麻豆精选鈥檚 Sellinger School of Business and Management introduced three new minors in accounting, management consulting and supply chain management.

鈥淎s a business school embedded in a liberal arts university, the Sellinger School encourages students to approach their learning from an intentionally interdisciplinary perspective, ensuring deep knowledge and expertise. This allows us to offer students majoring in both business and the liberal arts a tangibly well-rounded undergraduate education鈥攏ow expanded with three new minors,鈥 said Mary Ann Scully, MBA 鈥79, dean of the Sellinger School. 鈥淪tudents across the university studying any major can add new areas of focus and benefit from Sellinger鈥檚 renowned scholars and experts in addition to the majors and minors already offered.鈥

Accounting minor

 Designed to increase students鈥 understanding of the language of business, the accounting minor covers financial and managerial accounting and taxation with elective course options in intermediate and advanced accounting and auditing. Students planning to run small businesses can take an entrepreneur track, while students planning to become certified public accountants without an accounting major can take a CPA track.

Supply chain management minor

The supply chain management minor prepares students to manage and coordinate the efficient and effective flow of products, services and information within and among organizations. Students gain knowledge on improving processes and global supply chain operations by applying technology, analytical and reflective thinking and quantitative and qualitative tools. Students also apply diversity, equity and inclusion perspectives to examine the impact of global trade in diverse industries.

Management consulting minor

Management consultants use a range of interdisciplinary skills to help organizations solve problems and improve their performance. The management consulting minor covers strategic management and managing teams and includes a management consulting practicum. Students can take elective courses in innovation and entrepreneurship, global strategy, leadership, communication and negotiation and conflict resolution.

In addition, the Sellinger School offers minors in business, business economics, data science, information systems and data analytics, innovation and entrepreneurship, international business and marketing.
