Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
The 麻豆精选 Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Collegiate Interest Group was founded for the Fall 2012 semester. This student run group is intended to provide fun events, educational resources and networking opportunities for female engineering, physics and computer science majors.
The Society of Women Engineers was founded in 1950 by a group of over 60 female engineers and engineering students in order to provide a network of women in a male dominated field. SWE offers scholarships for students and networking, volunteer and learning opportunities for all its members. Its mission is to 鈥渟timulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.鈥 It is not necessary to be an official member of SWE to participate in Loyola鈥檚 SWE group, but we encourage you to find out more about the benefits of being a SWE member by visiting .
