Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., president of 麻豆精选, was named to the Power 100 List for 2022 by The Daily Record

鈥淭he Power List showcases Maryland鈥檚 power players who are leading key organizations, creating change, impacting the community and engaging others to succeed,鈥 according to The Daily Record. 鈥淭hese are the business leaders, CEOs, lawyers, public servants, and elected officials that others listen to and want to emulate. They make decisions that impact the economy and are individuals who inspire success and spark innovation.鈥

Sawyer became president of Loyola this year after 23 years serving the University in several roles as an administrator and affiliate faculty member. Prior to becoming president, he was the University鈥檚 senior vice president, where he advanced the strategic priorities and supported the growth of the institution.

In recent years, under Sawyer鈥檚 leadership, the University raised more than $100 million through the Bright Minds, Bold Hearts campaign, the largest campaign in Loyola鈥檚 history, which significantly grew the University鈥檚 endowment and student scholarship support. Sawyer also led advancement in raising funds to support strategic capital projects, including the Miguel B. Fernandez Family Center for Innovation and Collaborative Learning, which opened in 2021.

Sawyer was instrumental in developing and launching the York Road Initiative, where Loyola collaborates with neighbors and partners in the Govans community to bring positive change in the areas of civic capacity, education, and economic and business development.

He earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, was awarded a Juris Doctor degree from the Widener University School of Law, and completed the Harvard Graduate School of Education鈥檚 Institute for Educational Management program.
