Transfer Students
Welcome to Loyola! This page is designed to give you more specific information about the housing process as you prepare to become a Greyhound.
Residence Life & Housing cannot guarantee housing for transfer students. However, transfer students do receive priority in the housing placement process.
Applying for Housing
The housing application will available for incoming students starting early June. All students who have deposited prior to June will receive the instructions in early June. For deposits after June, once you have completed your admission and deposit process, a member from the housing operations team will contact you with instructions on completing the housing application to live on-campus. Please allow 72 hours for a member of our team to email you once you have completed your admission and deposit process. Once your Loyola email account has been activated by the university, you will receive communication from our office.
When completing the application, you may be asked the following information so be sure you are prepared to answer these or similar questions.
- Loyola offers a substance free community where residents pledge to live a substance free lifestyle (no alcohol, drugs, or tobacco). Would you be interested in living in this community?
- Resident assistants have full size apartments with a private bedroom for the R.A. and a shared bedroom (2 students total) where you could live. Are you interested in this option?
- Transfer students often prefer to live with other transfer students. Would you like this option?
- How many roommates would you prefer to have?
Residence Life & Housing also created a Transfer Student Housing Application Guide that walks you through each process step-by-step and provides additional information such as residence hall options, how to find roommates, and meal plan options. We are encouraging students and families to utilize the Transfer Student Housing Application Guide and this web page as a resource for this process.
Housing Assignments
You will receive all communication about your housing assignment via your Loyola email address so please be sure to check this email account regularly. Transfer student housing assignments will be sent on a rolling basis.
Move-In
New incoming Transfer residents will move in on Thursday, August 29. Incoming Transfers will sign up for a move in timeslot.
Transfer students will get separate information about move-in times and Transfer Orientation from student engagement. This information will be emailed to the student's Loyola email account. Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ the Transfer Students page for more information on the transfer student housing process, including applying for housing.
