2024 Summer Hours

Summer Hours "Early Fridays"

Recognizing the contributions of colleagues across the University, the President’s Cabinet is providing employees with a shortened work week, closing at noon on select Fridays during the summer months. The intent of this benefit is to provide employees more time to spend with their families and friends during the summer months. The Early Fridays schedule will be determined each year and annouced to all employees in late Spring.

  • May 24th (full day/holiday)
  • May 31st
  • June 7th
  • June 14th
  • June 21st
  • *June 28th - Excluded, full work day
  • July 5th (full day/holiday)
  • July 12th
  • July 19th
  • July 26th 
  • August 2nd
  • August 9th

Workday Early Fridays Request and Approval Process:

  • Biweekly staff must submit a time off request for each Early Friday. 
  • Supervisors must approve their time off request for each Early Friday.

Summer Attire

We recognize that many employees are on campus during the summer therefore business casual work attire is acceptable during the Summer (May-Aug). The Summer Schedule will be annouced each year in late Spring.  Employees are expected to use good judgment while taking advantage of a more relaxed standard of business attire. Employees who report for work dressed inappropriately may be sent home to change.

  • Khaki or dress/casual slacks
  • Capris
  • Jeans (clean and untorn)
  • Sweatpants, yoga pants, spandex leggings
  • Ripped or torn Jeans of any kind
  • Golf or polo shirts
  • Casual shirts with collars
  • Crop, tank, tube or halter-tops
  • T-shirts with logos (exception: Loyola-branded shirts)
  • Casual dresses or skirts
  • Skorts
  • Backless dresses
  • Skirts/dresses/skorts with hems more than 2" above the knees
  • Spaghetti strap dresses
  • Shorts (physical plant only)
  • Shorts-(other than physical plant – note to physical plant: no short-shorts, spandex or bike shorts)
 
  • Flip flops of any type
  • Sneakers
