Orientations

New Employee Benefits Orientation

Eligible employees will receive a  link to the self-guided New Employee Benefits Orientation during their first week of employment. A member of the benefits and wellness office will email the link to the employee at the end of their first week. Please note, employees must complete all required employment documents and tasks before they can enroll in the University benefit plans. New employees will receive an enrollment task from Workday. The task will direct employees to their benefit election page. Final benefits enrollment must be submitted within the 30-day Initial Enrollment Period. If enrollment is not completed within the initial enrollment period, the employee must wait until the next open enrollment period to enroll for benefits. Open enrollment occurs once a year.

Quarterly New Employee Orientation

New employees are scheduled by the office of human resources to attend one of the New Employee Orientation sessions, which are held quarterly or as needed throughout the year. The purpose is to familiarize new employees with the University’s history, mission, vision, values, strategic plan, campus layout, services, and to meet the University president and other key employees. Supervisors are expected to provide their new employees with a more specific orientation about their department and the employee’s new position.
